Hi, I’m Chris. The Mandate of Heaven was the belief that the Chinese Emperors had the god-given right to rule. This followed the belief that the Shang Dynasty could talk to the ancestors from scratching symbols in Oracle bones. The guy who came up with this belief was named Confucius. You’ll learn more him in Chinese Philosophies. Now here’s some about the Silk Road.
Bailey: The Silk Road was a series of paths that lead across the world. It was over 4000 miles long. Along the trip you encountered poisonous snakes and hot deserts. There were bandits ready to attack at the base of the mountains. When you got there the rewards were so cool. The people traded silk for other goods.
(What were the rewards? Talk about how they could trade their goods for thing that they wanted. - Mr. F)

Paper was invented by Han craftworkers. Paper provided a way to keep written records. Chinese made paper by pounding bark off of Mulberry trees. They also invented the seismograph. The seismograph can detect earthquakes. Inside swung a long metal pendulum and when the ground shook the pendulum would swing in direction of the earthquake. The pendulum would hit the rod in which the rod would knock a ball out of a dragon’s mouth. The ball came out in the direction the earthquake occurred. -Maddie Hi I’m Jared telling you about silk How to make silk 1 Get food for the silk worms
